The Cobb Planning Group Office is pictured above in historic Santa Ana near the New Ronald Reagan Federal Courthouse and the old (built in 1900) Orange County Courthouse.
This Dutch Colonial Revival house was built in 1924 by William and Christina Young. William was an early Santa Ana blacksmith and was the first Chief of Santa Ana’s first organized fire department. The Young’s continued to live in the house until William died in the 1930’s and Christina died in the 1940’s. William was the son of Charles W. Young, a distinguished pioneer who came to Santa Ana in 1879.
The house has been attributed to Frederick Eley, considered Santa Ana’s finest early architect. The house cost $6,000 to build in 1924 and is considered significant for its architecture, its association with the Young’s and because it was designed by Mr. Eley. It is now registered as a historic landmark. The house is now owned by the Cobb Family Trust and provides a warm and relaxing atmosphere for Doug’s clients when discussing their estate planning needs.
